Founder of Pretty Neat Studios, Megan, was hooked on design from an early age. Her creative spark and love of all things paper led her to a degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design at Leeds Arts University, where she discovered a new obsession – the laser cutter.

Megan dedicated herself to mastering the technology, until graduating in 2012, when she went on to work for a large greetings card company. There she gained valuable insights into the inner world of commercial design- but the dream of starting her own creative company was what really kept her going.

As a self-confessed perfectionist, Megan is drawn to the precise, intricate nature of laser cutting, as well as the beautiful designs it allows her to create. So in 2014, when she invested her savings to set up her own business, her combined love of all things ‘pretty’ and ‘neat’, made the company name an obvious choice.

Since then, the business has grown steadily and Megan works mostly single handed from a small workshop in Harrogate. The Pretty Neat Studios’ key to success has been the ability to fill a gap in the market, by offering specialist laser cutting and printing services not widely available anywhere else. Able to provide an efficient, personalised response to customers, backed by 8 years of technical expertise, Megan works with a vast range of customers. Whether she is advising on the feasibility of one-off prototypes for individual crafts people, designing bespoke wedding stationery collections, providing prints for the London galleries or cutting greetings card samples for Marks and Spencer, Megan loves that she never knows where the next enquiry might lead!
